A prime 1.83-acre two-lot commercial property at 5325 and 5327 Gulf Drive in Holmes Beach was sold on July 10 for $4,750,000. Melinda Garrett, a commercial real estate advisor with MSC Commercial, the commercial division of leading real estate broker Michael Saunders & Company, and Anita Jones, an agent in the company’s Bradenton residential sales office, represented the buyer, Jacob Spooner, a Bradenton Beach businessman and city commissioner. The sale included a 10,328-square-foot former Wells Fargo bank building, which Spooner plans to retain in the development of the property on a bustling site on Anna Maria Island surrounded by restaurants, shops and accommodations, Garrett said. Spooner will not share his development plans publicly until they receive approval from the city of Holmes Beach. The seller, ABC Family, LLC, a property management company in North Carolina, purchased the property in 2021 from Wells Fargo. “The sale represents a significant win for the new owner, who has extensive plans for the massive transformation of this prime site,” Garrett said. “I’m very excited to watch the plans unfold for the successful development of this site, and look forward to the completed project enhancing the Anna Maria Island community.”
